The FED announce extension to the public comment period until May 31, 2024, for Capital One Financial Corporation’s application to acquire Discover Financial Services. This extension allows more time for interested parties to comment on the proposal.

The SEC issue second fee rate advisory for fiscal year 2024 - 17 April 2024
The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced that, starting May 22, 2024, the fee rates for most securities transactions will be set at $27.80 per million dollars. Self-regulatory organizations will pay $8 per million for sales occurring through May 21, 2024, and $27.80 per million for sales on or after May 22, 2024. Until the new rate takes effect, the existing rate remains unchanged.
SEC staff publish new registered fund statistics report - 24 April 2024
Staff of the SEC have released a new report of Registered Fund Statistics, based on aggregated data reported by SEC-registered funds on Form N-PORT. This quarterly report offers insights into the registered funds industry, covering over 12,000 funds with over $26 trillion in total net assets under management. Registered Fund Statistics includes both public and non-public information filed on Form N-PORT, with most of the aggregated data being made public for the first time. Users can download the statistics in a structured format, providing historical statistical series with each report.
The SEC to discuss regulation on crowdfunding and the state of angel investing - 25 April 2024
The SEC’s Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee are organising a meeting on May 6, 2024 to have a discussion on Regulation Crowdfunding (Reg CF) and trends in angel investing, this will also be available to the public. They will discuss ways to expand access to early-stage capital raising, with a deep dive into Reg CF, which will encompass discussions on successes, challenges, and whether there are potential changes that could improve the regulation.
