If you know anyone under the age of 10, you have probably heard of Bruno. Which is ironic, because the only thing I know about Bruno, is that “We don’t talk about Bruno” and people don’t seem to like him very much.
Bad data is a lot like Bruno, everyone talks about it as if it was common knowledge, we all agree we don’t like it, but not in much detail. This makes it easy to use in hand-waving exercises and as a defence against a whole host of problems, inefficiencies and bad choices. The following insights are an accumulation of our experience in creating, evolving and maintaining the free, open-source data standard for Financial Regulation (FIRE).
